I wasn't sure at all what to expect from this book, based on it's synopsis, but one of the best parts of the book was not knowing what would happen next! Downburst is refreshingly unpredictable. While reading, I was stricken by surprise after surprise. As soon as I thought I knew what would happen, the plot did a 180 and I simply couldn't put the book down! I absolutely loved the characters and became attached to them very easily, feeling their nerves, triumph and sadness. If you buy this book you will not regret it! It was a quick read, and I could hardly put it down. There's lots of action and suspense. I recommend this book to everyone!
Do yourself a favor and read this book! It sucks you in from page one and you can't put it down. It is the perfect blend of action, adventure, suspense, normalcy, and of course romance. Katie Robison is a great writer, and the descriptions make you feel like you are in Kit's shoes. It's wonderful. Missing the Hunger Games series or looking for that next great series? This is it!
My review
Even though my sister Linda Peterson told me to expect something big, I was still not prepared for this book. I was sucked in on page 1 and I finished reading it in record time, diving in, and I just barely came up breathing. Everything was so vivid, and I love authors who can paint a picture that leaps off the pages. Adrenaline rush my goodness! I am banging my head against the wall in anticipation for the next book.
It has such an original idea. And it is clean I am going to have both of my daughter's read it. I highly recommend this read for anyone.
This was a great, fast read. Both the plot and the characters were unique and engaging. It left me wanting to read the next one right away (I actually went to the author's website as soon as I finished the book to see if there was a release date). After finishing this novel I sent copies to both my sister and my niece. Although this book is targeted toward young adult readers, it is a great read for adults as well.
This is such a great book and exactly what I was looking for! The main character is so interesting and likeable and her story is fascinating. I was surprised at every chapter and how the story unfolds. It is the perfect combination of action, thrill, creativity, and romance. I think it has something to offer for everyone. If you enjoyed the Hunger Games I think that you would enjoy this book and not be able to put it down. I am anxiously waiting for the sequel!
